Coming Soon: The ability to send multimedia messages from Grayscale 🎉

The Message Media feature allows users within your organization to view incoming media attachments, such as images, videos, or documents, directly within the messaging platform. Grayscale is checking attachments for malware to keep you safe. If you see a warning about blocked content and think it’s a mistake, feel free to reach out to support for help!

This functionality ensures seamless collaboration by enabling team members to access shared media without the need for external downloads or third-party tools – you can even download them!

Note: You must be a Grayscale Admin in order to turn "Allow Incoming Media Attachments" on for the organization.

If Message Media has not been turned on, you'll see "Media not viewable due to organization settings." as shown below. Please reach out to your Grayscale Admin to have this feature turned on.

Supported Messaging Channels

  • SMS/MMS

  • WhatsApp

Supported File Types

  • JPEG

  • PNG

  • GIF

  • MP4 videos

  • MP3 audio files

  • and more!

Note: The candidate/new hire/employee's ability to send MMS, or Multimedia Messages, is determined by the type of cell phone being used as well as their carrier network and wireless plan. If they encounter a 'Failed to send' message, they should contact their wireless carrier or device manufacturer for support.

MMS Message Size Limitations

While Grayscale doesn't have a file size limit when accepting inbound media attachments, we recommend using attachments no larger than 600KB when sending files that are not jpeg, png, or gif images to reduce the risk of delivery failure.

The candidate/new hire/employee's ability to send message attachments depends on their cell phone model and wireless carrier network.

Top US-based carrier limitations

Carrier

MMS Attachment Size

AT&T*

1.0 MB

T-Mobile

1.5 MB

Verizon

1.0 MB

*We recommend 600KB when sending over AT&T to avoid the potential of file resize failures occurring at the carrier partner's network.
