Bulk messaging is a great way to reach out to multiple candidates at once. This is not “group text” but a bunch of individual messages so candidates won’t be able to see each other’s responses.
So to get started we will click “New”
Title: This is an internal title, so your candidate will not know what you’ve named it. Feel free to name it however you please.
Then, select your audience. The audience defaults to individuals where you can manually select candidates one-by-one, but most of our customers select by Job.
If you leave the stage at any stage, it will apply to anyone assigned to that job, or you can get more specific and select by a certain stage.
If you current workflow includes tagging in Lever, you can utilize those tags as well.
If you hit preview, it shows you everyone that will be sent the message based on the current filters you have selected.
Audience: Static vs. default.
Static: Lock in your list of recipients now, on save. Your list of candidates will not change once you select your audience.
Dynamic: Select the criteria for your audience now, and have Grayscale pull the list of matched candidates at the time of your scheduled send.
You’ll then craft your message!
You can also add nudges to bulk messages. If you send out a bulk message to 10 people and 6 people respond, only the 4 people who didn’t respond will receive nudges.
Next, you’ll want to assign who will receive the replies for this bulk message. You will most likely assign replies to yourself but if you want a coworker to receive the replies, you can assign that instead.
Lastly, you'll need to schedule when you want your bulk message to go out and click save.
All of your bulk messages will live under the bulk messaging page and you can edit or cancel your bulk messages using the three dots on the side up until they are scheduled to go out.
Opt-out Language
The box “Include opt-out information in my message (recommended)” is automatically checked. This will apply the opt out language “Reply STOP to unsubscribe”. We highly recommend keeping this checked, because it builds trust with the candidates and helps prevent your messages from being marked as spam by carriers. It also informs the candidates that they can respond STOP at any time to opt out or START to opt back in.
If a candidate texts back STOP, you can no longer text them through Grayscale. Its as if they have blocked you and the message will be undeliverable.
