User Management

Creating/Adding Users

With SSO enabled, creating new Grayscale users is a two-part process that involves your Customer Success Manager.

To add a new user:

  1. Grant access to Grayscale in your identity management system.

  2. Once granted, a new Grayscale user will be created in a pending state which the user cannot yet use.

  3. Your Customer Success Manager will automatically receive an alert about the new user. They will handle any billing changes (if needed) and then trigger an account activation email to the new user.

  4. The user can now log into Grayscale

Note: All new users will be assigned the ‘Users’ role in Grayscale. Other Grayscale admins can upgrade new users to the ‘Admin’ role if needed.

Updating Users

With SSO enabled, the following user profile fields become read-only in Grayscale:

  • First Name

  • Last Name

  • Email Address

  • Username

  • Country

  • Phone number (optional)

Updates to any of these user fields need to happen in your identity management system. Updates will be reflected in Grayscale immediately.

Disabling Users

With SSO enabled, users cannot be disabled inside of Grayscale; instead, they must have their access revoked from the Identity Provider.

User deactivations will be reflected in Grayscale immediately. If a user has an active Grayscale session at the time of disabling, then their session will be terminated immediately.

User Login

Once a user has been granted access to Grayscale, they can access Grayscale through the identity provider (if your company supports this), or directly from the Grayscale login screen.
