Video Transcript:
Search for a candidate in Greenhouse and click on their profile page. Pop open grayscale and you can immediately start texting them. As you can see, their conversation history lives right inside of Grayscale and additionally if you click on the activity feed within Greenhouse, it also automatically populates their entire conversation history here as well. This is great and helpful for anyone on the team who doesn’t have Grayscale access because they can also get an update on where the candidate is in the process etc.
With 1-1 texting there are 4 main buttons that you’ll be using down in the bottom corner.
Snippets: A snippet grabs the information directly from your ATS. For example, if you want to say Hey [First Name] [Last Name] and then hit send, it populates the candidates information and helps avoid spelling errors.
Templates: A template is any message you want to precompose or something you send often saving yourself time. You can create templates introducing yourself and keep them private or you can also share these templates across your team to create some consistency in your messaging.
Schedule: You can also schedule a message and decide when to send it. For example, if you think you'll get a better response on Monday, you can choose Monday’s date, the time you want to send it and click apply. Scheduled messages appear in Gray and you have the option to edit or cancel that message up until the time it's set to be sent. Messages that have been sent are Purple.
Nudges: A nudge is an automated follow up that is sent if a candidate doesn’t respond. You can apply up to 3 different nudges and choose the wait time. Once the message with nudges is sent, you can’t cancel the nudge. The only way to cancel them is if the candidate responds or you can cancel upcoming nudges if they're no longer necessary. Once the candidate responds, all of the following nudges are cancelled. This acts as a drip campaign and keeps the candidate engaged.
Additional Things to Call out:
The three dots in the upper right hand corner give you a few more options. If you no longer want a conversation in your inbox, you can archive a conversation to clean it up.
You also have the option to block a candidate if for whatever reason you are receiving unwanted correspondence from them. And likewise, the candidate does have the ability to block you by replying STOP at any time to opt out and you will see this in their conversation history here. They will receive one additional message letting them know that if they want to start receiving messages again, they just have to reply START. If you do accidentally text them after they’ve opted out, you will just get an error message that says undeliverable.
The Grayscale g in the upper left hand corner takes you back to your inbox.
The blue dot in the upper right hand corner indicates that a message is unread.
