We strongly recommend enabling message notifications so you don't miss a text, whether at your desk or on-the-go.

Types of Notifications

  • Browser notifications

  • Email notifications

  • Text notifications

  • Push notifications

Let's get into it!

Be sure you are added as a Follower for any candidate conversations you want to receive notifications for (if you see an Unfollow button, it means you're following them)!

Browser Notifications

Get notified in your browser every time a new message comes in from a candidate. This can be super helpful for keeping on top of your inbox while you're at your desk.

You can also enable sound notifications, so you'll hear a light ring along with the desktop notification.

Email Notifications

Email is a great channel for notifications, because for most recruiters, their email inbox is their central inbox of choice.

With email notifications enabled, you'll get an email every time a new message comes in.

The notification includes the most recent message in the body of the email, so you have context for conversation and can determine whether you need to respond now or in the future.

Be sure to add notifications@gograyscale.com to your email contacts to avoid losing notifications to your junk folder 😎

Text Notifications

SMS notifications are a great way to stay on top of your text messages on-the-go.

When enabled, every time a candidate responds, you'll receive a text message notification.

The notification will tell you who messaged you, with a link to the conversation.

When you click the link, you won't have to sign in to view the conversation and respond, so you can quickly keep things moving.

Push Notifications

Push notifications can be activated in Settings and allow you to receive notifications on the go. You may need to update your smartphone settings to allow Grayscale to send you push notifications.

If you haven't already, you can download our mobile app below.

Note: The Grayscale Mobile App currently does not support Single Sign-On (SSO). For help on how to access Grayscale on-the-go, check out our Using SSO On Your Mobile Device article.

How To Enable Notifications

  1. Go into Settings

  2. Toggle on the notifications that are right for you

We strongly recommend turning on all notifications at first so you don't miss a message.

If you find your notifications are too noisy, you can add a delay. This ensures you'll only get external notifications– email, SMS and push notifications –if you don't act on a new message within a certain amount of time (you can add a delay of up to 5 minutes).

So what are you waiting for? Get those notifications turned on!

Happy texting! 🎉
