In the U.S. and Canada, the majority of phone carriers will limit the length of a text to 160 characters. Whenever possible, we encourage you to craft your messages with this constraint in mind.
That said, most of the carriers will take a message longer than 160 characters and parse it back together as one message before it's delivered to the recipient.
That means, in the majority of cases, you can send a message over 160 characters and it will still be delivered as one message to the candidate.
Grayscale doesn't limit character count, but we do trigger a message letting you know when you've gone over 160 characters. We can't guarantee that messages over 160 characters will be delivered as one message.
